Do you want to learn how to draw a brown bear? This tutorial is perfect for beginners! I’ll show you step-by-step how to create an adorable cartoon brown bear. Let’s get started!

Do You Know What a Brown Bear Is?

Do you know what a brown bear is? They are one of the largest and most powerful animals in North America! Brown bears can weigh up to 900 pounds and stand over 7 feet tall. They are omnivores, which means they eat both meat and plants. Brown bears live in forests, mountains, and deserts all over North America, Europe, and Asia! In the wild, brown bears can live for up to 30 years. They are very smart animals and have been known to use tools like rocks to break open shells!

How to Draw a Brown Bear

Drawing a brown bear doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, with a few simple steps, anyone can do it. First, start with the head. Draw a big circle for the nose and two small ones for the eyes. Then add the ears and mouth. Next, draw the body. Start with a large oval for the torso and then add the legs and arms. Finally, add some final details like fur and claws.

To achieve this design, we will show you below the most important resources you will need:

  • We will start with a large oval shape with two little ears for the head.
  • We will bring it to life through expressions: two big eyes and a snout.
  • We finish with their classic bear prints with the body, arms, and legs.

Now it’s time to draw.

Easy Way to Draw a Bear

We will guide you through the entire drawing process in small steps that together will become the final result. Follow them very carefully and remember that if you get lost, not only do you have the reference drawings, but you can also repeat those lines that have cost you a little more.

Let’s start.

Step: 1

We will first draw a large circle for the face. Position the sheet of paper vertically. With a black marker, draw a large loop at the top. This will be the bear’s head.

Step: 2

Above the circle, we will represent the two little ears with circular lines and some ellipses inside. Short strokes show the inner parts of the ears. We continue with the expressive features of our bear.

Step: 3

Mark the eyebrows and crest of the bear. The eyes will consist of two large black spheres with white ellipses for reflections.

Step: 4

Draw an oval inside the circle.

Step: 5

From the center of the lower contour of the oval, drawdown two segments that look like hooks – this is the mouth. An oval will represent the snout, and inside it, we will draw a small ellipse for the nose and the mouth.

Step: 6

Next, draw the bear’s body as shown in the image. With a bit of body, it will begin to look more like a very chibi teddy bear.

Step: 7

The shape of the body, to incorporate the legs later, will be triangular-oval, as shown in the image. We then draw the arms with curved lines.

Step: 8

Draw the outlines of the front legs. We will draw the legs and the footprints with pure circular strokes.

Step: 9

We are almost done! Now in the center part of the body, draw an oval.

Step: 10

It’s time to color and give the brown bear a unique touch! We decided to color the whole body brown and the details lighter, such as the paw prints and the snout.

Many children of advanced age do not lose interest in drawing but, on the contrary, improve their artistic skills. Children with developed creative potential who master the drawing technique will draw a brown bear.
