How To Draw a Spiderweb Instructions

Version 1 – How to Draw a Cobweb

As usual, starting with the easiest step, draw a vertical straight line and then a horizontal straight line on it. This will make the addition sign.

Step 1:

Step 2:

Add two diagonals or tilted straight lines as sketched below. These lines will act as the base threads and the web will be constructed around them.

See, it’s simple!

Step 3:

Now it’s time to weave the web. You will begin by drawing small arches or curves in a parabolic form in between the diagonals.

Step 4:

You won’t stop here. You will begin drawing the next arch from where the previous arch ended. It’s pretty easy to do it if you understand it clearly.

Step 5:

You will continuously keep on constructing the arches as instructed in step 5 and you will be almost done with the basic structure of the web.

Step 6:

For the last step of this version, you will make a second layer of arches over the one you drew in the previous steps. You can add as many layers as you wish until you are completely contented with the results.

Do you know that spiders have a great designing sense? Some webs are very intricate and knotty. Quite amazing….. right?

You have completed all the steps and learned how to draw a spider web for kids of version 1.

Tip: To make it more easily, you can turn the paper around for your ease. By doing that, your drawing will turn out neater.

Version 2 – How to Draw a Corner Spider web

Start this tutorial by drawing two perpendicular lines, one horizontal and the other one vertical at a corner remember that these two lines must form a 90-degree angle.

Step 1:

Step 2:

Now draw few diagonals commencing from the midpoint that is forming an angle. Three diagonals would be enough but you must use your creativity and you can draw as many as you can.

Step 3:

Now it’s time to start weaving the web. In the same way by drawing arches as we did in the first version. You will draw an arch in between a vertical line and a diagonal one. The curved edge would be facing downwards as you can detect from the illustration below.

Step 4:

Keep on drawing these arches between the diagonals now. Remember that the next arc will begin from where the preceding arch ended.

Step 5:

Continue by drawing another coating of the second set of arches beneath the one you previously drew. You will draw these continuously till the time you get to the horizontal line you drew on the far end.

Step 6:

Add more arches to add your final touches to the web to achieve the final look. You’ll also sketch another set of arches beneath the two you drew on the top. But they’ll be larger than the ones you drew previously. Maybe, you can add a spooky spider or any kind of haunted ornaments to give it a glow-up that you desire. What’s better than that?

Spider webs come in different kinds of shapes and sizes, being a creative artist; it’s your choice how you portray them.
