In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw a cow with nine effortless steps that are to be followed, equally great and amusing for kids and novice artists.

Cows

The official name of a cow is cattle; anyhow we will call this cute animal cow. Cows are perhaps the most widely known creatures on the planet. They are raised in farms for meat, milk, and dairy items which are an important source of nutrition for both children and adults equally.

Cow skin is widely used to make leather and cow manure is used as a fertilizer for plants to grow well and also a source of fuel. Cows greatly fear sudden movements, noises, peculiar smells, and queer and unfamiliar situations or objects.

One of the remarkable facts about a cow is that it has 360° panorama vision and can see predators coming from any side but on the other hand cows are color blind and cannot see the red and green color. Cows are beneficial in many different ways. Another striking reality about the cute animal is that it has a good sense of smell and can detect odors up to 5 miles away.

Draw a Cow

Figuring out how to draw a cow easily may sound troublesome, but with these basic steps, it turns out to be doable with loads of fun.

  • Our guided drawing printable
  • Marker / Pencil
  • Paper
  • Coloring supplies

How To Draw a Cow Step by Step

Each step of this basic drawing guide is accompanied by an illustration. In each image, recently added lines are featured in red, while previously drawn lines appear in dark.

Step 1:

Start by drawing a rectangular shape with rounded corners. It will represent the mouth part. According to your choice, you can also make the face an oval. No worries, the steps are going to be simple.

Step 2:

Draw an inverted letter U above the rectangular image. It will complete the face structure. The head can be drawn like an arch above the extra huge mouth.

Step 3:

Next, draw a pair of horns on both sides of the cow’s head. Draw two filled-in circles as eyes in the head you drew in the previous step. Draw a curved line starting from the head and bring it downwards to form the perfect horn for our cartoon cow. Repeat the same process on the opposite side to draw the second horn.

Draw two circles on the snout to form nostrils and a curved line to make a smile and create the look of a happy cow.

Step 4:

Draw a pair of ears under the horns. This step is also very easy like all the other steps. Draw a leaf-like shape without veins under the horns on both sides.

Step 5:

The next step is to draw the body of the cow. When we look at a cow, we see that its body looks truly hefty.

You can draw it as an oval shape or a rectangle with rounded corners and join it with the mouth.

Moooo! We are near to the end!

Step 6:

Draw a pair of legs by drawing almost parallel lines and join them with the lower part of the body. Draw a hoof at the end of each foot. Cows have normally smaller legs as compared to the size of the body. Hind legs are optional and it means that it’s up to you if you make the legs hinged.

You can also draw the legs shorter than the body or taller.

Step 7:

Draw the udder next to the hind leg, extending from the stomach. Draw a curved line with two U-shaped lines starting from the stomach and ending towards the hind leg. Aren’t the steps easy?

Step 8:

Add two more legs, one attached to the front leg and the second attached to the hind leg. You have almost completed but don’t forget to draw the tail. Draw two parallel curved lines from the rear side of the body and pull them downwards.

Draw an upside teardrop shape at the bottom of the tail. This will complete our cow drawing, but don’t you feel that something is missing. You are just a few steps from learning how to draw a cow easy completely.

Step 9:

Now all that is left to do is to make a pattern on the fur. Making the pattern is a very easy thing to do and you will be able to make it very easily after you have completely taken this tutorial. Create the design on the body of the cow by drawing irregular shapes with curved lines.

Cows come in numerous tones, going from dark to brown and white, some with spots and others with stripes. Cows are commonly white with dark patterns of irregular shapes, and pink accents on the ears, nose, and udder.

Congratulations! You have learned how to draw a cartoon cow.
